A farm house in 55 acres, newly modernised and furnished to the highest standard. Fully equipped new kitchen, oak beamed sitting room with large open fire, ground floor twin bedded garden bedroom, first floor master double bedroom. This area is set in an AONB (area of outstanding natural beauty) with miles of Forestry Commission tracks and wildlife reserves. Cwmcarvan is 4 miles from Monmouth, which is a historical market town offering the Nelson Museum, National Trust Naval Museum, castle and Regimental Museum.
Nestling on the western slope of Trellech Ridge, below Cwmcarvan Hill, Werngochen Farm is in the Wye Valley Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The Wye Valley, winding sinuously down from Hereford to Chepstow, is both one of the finest lowland landscapes in Britain and also a great river to enjoy on the water.
Cwmcarvan is within easy travelling time from London, Oxford, Bristol and the Midlands, with good roads to within a few miles, so the reward against travelling time is as high as you can get. It is approximately ½ hour from the M32 exit on the M4 passing Bristol, running onto the M48 across the “Old” Severn Bridge crossing, and then some 15-20 minutes beyond Chepstow. From the M5 and M50 to the north, it is 15 minutes from the dual carriageway in Monmouth and approximately 1¼ hours from Birmingham.
The hamlet of Cwmcarvan is no more than 150 people, with an ancient church reached across the farm’s fields. It is equidistant from the historic town of Monmouth, and Raglan. |
