This is a  granite cottage attached to the Primary School in a mountain location, where Moelwyn Mountain towers over the village through which trains of the Ffestiniog Narrow Gauge Railway steam up from Porthmadog to Blaenau Ffestiniog. Tanygrisiau station is 5 minutes away and special "Rover" tickets are available to our visitors. Train enthusiasts can visit the Welsh Highland Railway and other "Great Little Trains".

Very central for all of Snowdonia and the National Park's renouned scenery and all the historical and archaeological sites. Visit Castles & Forests, National Trust & Heritage, Sandy beaches & lakes, slate quarries & power stations, museums & gardens or go on sea trips or cycle rides.

From the cottage door you may climb Moelwyn, walk to Llyn Ystradau to fish or take the little train to Tan y Bwlch and walk back through the woods.
 
Information for all tastes including many activities for children are in nine folders in the cottage. We also have a selection of books on walking and others on the area for visitor's use.

This is a comfortable, well equipped cottage with mountain views. The back door leads on to a balcony where a flight of steps will take you to a sunny, secluded, walled private garden A few paces away from the cottage there is a children's playground equipped with swings and slides and space for kicking a ball about or you may use the cricket and soft ball tennis sets stored in the hall.

Off street parking, double glazed throughout. Mobile phone reception possible.

The entrance porch leads to a hall with storage space. The sitting room has a colour TV, with video and DVD players, upholstered furniture and Parkray Stove (smokeless fuel extra). The dining room with slate floor leads to the kitchen - double oven cooker, cooker hood, extractor fan, microwave, fridge freezer, automatic washing machine, Portmerion china, plentiful cooking equipment and radio/cassette player. Kitchen towels are provided.

Two bedrooms - king sized double and twin (3ft beds). Cot available. Linen provided and beds prepared. Duvets and/or blankets. Bathroom with instant electric shower over bath. Fan Heater. Bathroom towels provided. Please bring your own beach towels. 

Domestic electricity is by meter reading. Heating is by electric storage heaters in all rooms and paid by meter readings (except October to April when included in price)
