A light airy Grade 2 listed historic town house within the walled town of Caernarfon.There is a large bright kitchen for warm companionable evenings. "Hafod Aur" is a lovely Grade 2 listed historic town house with Georgian features which was a shop in the 19th and early 20th century which has been newly renovated, furnished and decorated and is now available for holidays. It is wonderfully positioned in the historic old High Street within the ancient 13th century town walls of Caernarfon . The house is close to the historic castle, which is a World Heritage Site, and Y Maes (the town square) as well as to many of the town's interesting and varied restaurants, cafes, tourist office, bistros and inns. It has been awarded 4 Stars by the Wales Tourist Board. "Hafod Aur" is a three bedroomed house, sleeping up to 6 people. There is one double bedroom and two twin bedrooms and a large bathroom. All the bedrooms are equally spacious and all have two windows each. . The lovely bright well equipped kitchen has a large table for leisurely holiday mealtimes. There is also a convenient downstairs cloakroom with a toilet and washbasin. The lounge has an attractive large three arched window with luxuriously heavy figured velvet curtains to make the nights cosy. There are pine cupboards each side of the Victorian cast iron fireplace, a comfortable three piece suite, other chairs and a colour television, some books for light reading, table lamps as well as a central light, attractive pictures and a coffee table. The lovely bright kitchen is very well equipped with a fridge with freezer section, a full size cooker, a larder cupboard to hold crockery and tinned food and vegetable, base cupboards with stainsless steel saucepans and frying pan, as well as a non-stick frying pan, cafetiere, microwave, washing machine etc. On the first floor, there is a large double bedroom with an attractive Art Nouveau suite of a double wardrobe with drawer and a marble top dressing table. This bedroom has its own wash basin, and two large windows, and bedside light. Also on this floor is a large twin bedded room, again with two windows, wardrobe, dressing table, bedside cabinet with table lamps. On the second floor there is a large pretty bathroom, close carpeted, with a bath, basin, toilet, and heated towel rails. Also on this floor is another large twin bedded room, with lovely inlaid Victorian wardrobe, dressing table and bedside lamps. There is a hair dryer and shaver adapter in the house. The old town of Caernarfon has been pedestrianised to a large extent and so there is little traffic in the old High Street. The three storey house "Hafod Aur" (golden summer house) takes its name from the nearby Porth yr Aur (the Golden Gate) which leads to the promenade outside the town walls by the Menai Straits with views to Anglesey.
