Hengwaithdy was formerly the Master’s House of the Crickhowell Union Workhouse in the 19th and early 20th Centuries. The present owners, who live at the property, have imaginatively converted one floor of the building to an apartment for letting. Self-contained, with it’s own private entrance, the accommodation is a comfortable mix of modern and traditional styles, with a unique cellar bedroom and full facilities for self-catering. The apartment is suitable for two and a travel cot can be supplied for baby if required. Well-behaved dogs are welcome by arrangement with the owners’ dogs, Hippo and Skye! Outside, you have access to your own patio area, from which there are superb views over Crickhowell, the River Usk, Table Mountain and Sugar Loaf. The Brecon and Monmouthshire Canal runs just below and is easily accessible. There are excellent local facilities - shops, restaurants and pubs - in Crickhowell and the surrounding area. One restaurant/bar is within easy walking distance. With the Llangattock Escarpment just behind, Hengwaithdy is an ideal base for touring, walking, cycling and other outdoor activities in the National Park.
