Details of Apartments at Kinneil The apartments are named after the paddle steamers which were owned by Captain Buchanan, a Clyde shipping magnate, who built ‘Kinneil’ as his family home in 1885. All apartments have breathtaking views over the Bay of Lamlash to Holy Isle and the mainland beyond, are self-contained, and fully and comfortably furnished. Heating is by a combination of electric storage heaters, on demand panel heaters and a radiant fire/electric coal effect stove in the sitting room. Electricity, linen and towels are included in the rental. All apartments have a fully equipped kitchen in addition to a full sized cooker, or hob and oven, a fridge/freezer, iron and ironing board, microwave, remote control TV and video/DVD, CD/tape/radio players, electric blankets, heated towel rail and hairdryer unless otherwise stated. We can provide a ramp access facility for disabled persons. Guests have use of the garden and separate laundry facilities (automatic washing machine, tumble dryer and outdoor drying area), two bicycles, a barbeque, golf clubs, a croquet set, a set of boules, outdoor draughts and chess. There is free car parking. ‘Petrel’ and ‘Eagle’ Apartments (ground and first floor extension apartments) Both apartments are fully double-glazed and have been tastefully refurbished to enhance their wonderful aspects and facilities. They both comprise a large open plan sitting/dining room and kitchen with breakfast bar, a three-piece bathroom suite, with a shower over the bath, and a large double bedroom. Both apartments can accommodate a maximum of 3 people, with Eagle having a double and single bed, within the large double bedroom, and Petrel having a 2 seater sofa bed in the sitting room. Both apartments have balconies overlooking the Bay. The rentals for both apartments range from £295 (low season) to £400 (high season). ‘ Located on the second floor, this is a large, spacious, warm, fully double-glazed and self-contained apartment, which can accommodate a maximum of 6 people. There are two double bedrooms, a small single bedroom, with a full sized single bed, a 25’ sitting room with a large, purpose built sofa-bed for 2 adults, a large kitchen/diner, with a dining table, a dishwasher, fridge/freezer, electric hob, oven and microwave, a family bathroom with a three-piece suite, and an electric shower over the bath. As this apartment is reached by two flights of stairs, it is not recommend for anyone who has mobility problems. Rentals range from £475 (low season) to £625 (high season) ‘Vivid’ and ‘Vesta’ - both situated on the ground floor of the main house These spacious apartments retain many original features, are located on either side of the entrance hallway, and have breathtaking views, over the bay, from the sitting room. Both can accommodate a maximum of 4 people having a large sofa bed in the sitting room. ‘Vivid’ comprises a large sitting /dining-room, a large breakfast kitchen, a bathroom with a three-piece suite and a separate shower cubicle, with an electric shower, making this apartment suitable for disabled persons, and a large double bedroom. ‘Vesta’ comprises a large sitting/dining-room, a double bedroom with twin beds, kitchen with breakfast bar, and bathroom with an electric shower over the bath. Rentals for these apartments range from: £300 (low season) to £450 (high season) How to find Us On leaving the Brodick ferry terminal, turn left, heading South on the A841, towards Lamlash and Whiting Bay. After 5 minutes, you will pass Lamlash Golf Club clubhouse on the left hand-side and start the sharp descent towards the coast. The ‘Kinneil’ turning is on the right-hand side, just before the road bears sharply right along the coast road. There is low wall at the entrance showing ‘Kinneil’.
