Both Widefirth Self Catering Cottages are four star superior accomodation which were completed in June 2005. The cottages provide a comfortable, well equipped base for exploring the Orkney Mainland and its Isles.

Widefirth Cottages are picturesquely situated in a quiet location with panoramic views over Widefirth Bay, looking out to Kirkwall and the Northern Isles of Orkney. The cottages are situated in a quiet location, approximately 165 yards from our working farm.
Two self-contained cottages are available for holiday let all year round which can comfortably accomodate up to 6 individuals each. Both cottages can also be rented for large family groups, up to a maximum of 12 individuals (not including infants).
A welcome pack including samples of Orkney produce will be provided on your arrival. All bed linen and towels are available at no additional charge. Baby equipment is also available so please ask when booking.
Both cottages offer easy access to wheelchair users.
Pets are welcome by arrangement.

The kitchen is fully equipped with modern appliances and there is a separate utility room.

There is a spacious dining room and a comfortable lounge with leather suite and widescreen TV, DVD, video player and digital box.

The master bedroom has a four poster bed and en-suite bathroom. The en-suite bathroom is fully equipped with a walk in shower and is designed for wheelchair users.

There are two twin bedrooms with plenty of storage facilities.

Local activities
Locally there are many activities to do, including visiting archaeological sites or wildlife hot-spots. Along the shoreline you can see seals, seabirds and occasionally otters. Wildfowl and waders can be watched on the loch of Brochan, while the RSPB reserve at Cottiscarth is a good place to see hen harriers. In the vicinity, there is an interesting doocot at the Hall of Rendall and a preserved broch at Gurness. There are plenty of other activities to do in the area, including walking, beach-combing, and fishing. The ferry terminal to the northers isles of Rousay, Egilsay and Wyre is also within close proximity. Open all year. Brochure available.
