Highland Home for Rent

Aird View

Children Welcome    No Pets    No Smoking

Aird View is situated in a quiet rural area of eastern Skye called The Braes. This comfortable bungalow is set back from a single track no through road, yet is only 7 miles south of Portree, the principal town on the island. There are beautiful, uninterrupted views towards the islands of Raasay and Rona whilst the nearest beach is only a few minutes walk from the front door! The property has been well maintained and recently refurbished now featuring UPVC double glazing, oil central heating and a new kitchen and bathroom. In addition there is a large, bright lounge/dining room having a coal effect fire with marble hearth and two picture windows with views out towards Raasay. The three double bedrooms also have relaxing open vistas to the front and side of the property taking in Raasay and Ben Tianavaig to the north. A garden area to either side provides some outdoor seating – again with lovely views – for those long summer evenings and a glass of something special! There is off road parking for two cars. Aird View is ideally placed for touring the north east of Skye and taking the ferry to the Isle of Raasay. Magnificent scenery is easily accessible on the Trotternish Peninsula, north of Portree including the Old Man of Storr, Lealt Falls, the amazing rock formations of the Quiraing and Kilt Rock. Historical sites are also in abundance here with the Museum of Island Life, Flora MacDonald Memorial and ruins of Duntulm Castle – all worthy of a visit – all part of the island’s rich and often dramatic history. Pretty, painted Portree with its narrow winding streets and picturesque harbour area is the capital of Skye and within easy reach of The Braes. Its many attractions include the art gallery An Tuireann, and the Aros Experience – a visitor centre featuring a theatre, cinema, displays and historical exhibits about Skye. A range of shops, restaurants and pubs complete the excellent facilities available in this buzzing, attractive little town.
