Gairloch is famous for it's sandy beaches, which are clean and safe. They have beautiful views across the minch to the Western Isles and the North of the Isle of Skye. Gairloch offers all manner of activities for old and young alike. There are various sea and seaside activities aswell as numerous walks and rock climbing. There are also a number of bars and resturants in the village, a Museum and several craft shops. Rua Readh Lighthouse and Red Point are all worth a visit while you are in the area. The Leisure Centre in Gairloch itself is open all year round and nearby Poolewe, six miles further North of Gairloch, offers a Swimming Pool.
