Badenscallie Holiday Cottages are situated in the active crofting township of Badenscallie on a busy working croft. Lambing time is always interesting (April/May). Come later in the year and you can watch the men clipping the sheep in our big shed. Our two cottages, Fern and Moss, stand in their own private grounds facing south on the road that drops down the croft to Loch Broom. Each sleeps 4 plus a cot. Enjoy stunning views from your windows of mountains and sea. Below us are the Summer Isles, including Horse Island and Goat Island. Behind us Beinn Mor Coigach rises to 2,437 ft.
The cottages are a three minute walk from Badenscallie beach. This area is rich with sandy coves, birdlife, flora and fauna. Meet the hermit crabs in the rock pools! The surrounding countryside offers excellent walking. We are within 2 miles of shops, petrol, the Hydroponicum and the Summer Isles Hotel and Bar, yet visitors who prefer a relaxing holiday will discover a unique tranquility and peace in this rugged paradise. You will be met on arrival by the owner and shown around your holiday cottage. Read our visitors book, filled in by each visitor, a large majority of whom return each year to enjoy our Highland hospitality. Our delightful cottages each take up to 4 people. Prices are between £200 and £400 per week, depending on season. Bookings are taken from Saturday to Saturday in the high season. Outwith high season we can be more flexible. The arrival time is 4pm and departure at 10am prompt. Electricity is extra on £1 coin meter. The crofts in Badenscallie surrounding the houses belong to the owners. Dogs are welcome at a charge of £20 per week. You are welcome to walk around but dogs must be kept on a lead when outwith the garden area. LIVING ROOM Both Fern and Moss Cottages have fully-furnished, comfortable, modern living rooms with electric heating, a TV/Video and a CD player. All furnishings are to a high standard and there is a selection of CD’s, videos and books. Modern kitchen/dining area. All electric. Cooker, microwave, washing machine, tumble dryer, toaster, coffee percolator, larder, dishes for four and electric heating. Two modern and tastefully furnished bedrooms. 1 Double bed and 2 single beds. Electric heating and fitted wardrobes in both rooms. All duvets, pillows and bed linen are included in your rental price. The linen is of a high standard, as are the towels. Beds are made before arrival as required. BATHROOM Modern bathroom with bath, electric instant shower, w.c. and wash basin. Electric heating. The cottages are fitted with smoke alarms, fire blankets and fire extinguishers. A torch and candles are all provided. All windows are double glazed and we are on the mains water supply.
