Forester's Croft is within easy reach of the downhill mountain bike course on Cairn William and walking tracks on Bennachie. Fishing is available by day permit on the River Don. There is an 18-hole golf course at Kemnay only 3 miles away. There is pony trekking at Glentanar near Aboyne and the Maritime Museum and Art Gallery in Aberdeen. In season, there is skiing at the Lecht and Glenshee and sailing on the Loch of Skene near Dunecht or with the Aberdeen and Stonehaven Yacht Club at Stonehaven, and for the less adventurous, there is the Castle Trail of castles run by the National Trust for Scotland, the whisky trail of leading distilleries, the lighthouse museum in Fraserburgh, the sea-life centre in MacDuff, highland games at Lonach, Aboyne and Braemar, and parts of HM The Queen's estate at Balmoral. Monymusk is only 18 miles from Aberdeen and depending on the traffic, half an hour from Dyce airport and an hour from the train station, both in Aberdeen.
