Tarmachan is a flat on the first floor of Auchmore, accessed by stairs -- not steep, but unfortunately not wheelchair friendly. The plan below shows the layout of the rooms.
 
The kitchen has an electric cooker, washing machine, dishwasher, microwave and fridge. There is no freezer within the flat, but freezer storage can be arranged if required. There is also a good selection of pots and pans, crockery and cutlery. The flat is centrally heated and there is a gas fire in the lounge area. All gas and electricity is included in the holiday price.

The bathroom has a shower over the bath, and an electric shaver/lighted mirror. All linen for the beds is provided, as are towels.
A TV is provided: typical BBC, ITV & non-subscription channels are received, as are several radio stations.

About Auchmore Apartments

AUCHMORE is an 18th century building around a central courtyard which contains a number of flats, apartments and houses. Norma and Kenneth Lang own number 5 (Tarmachan) and number 6 (Lawers). The apartments are on the first floor, accessed by stairs, and are available for holiday lets giving a combined capacity for sixteen people in two separate but adjacent properties.
 
The property is situated in a private estate on the south side of Loch Tay. There is adjacent car parking and an enclosed garden for your use (see photo above), as well as the freedom to go walking or cycling further afield -- along the full length of Loch Tay if you're feeling really fit!

The Accommodation

Tarmachan has three bedrooms (sleeping up to 6 people): two double-bedded rooms and one bunk-bedded twin. After refurbishment and upgrading we have 3 stars from the Scottish Tourist Board.
Lawers can sleep 10 people in four bedrooms: three in a family room, three in a triple room, two in a double room and two in a twin room. This apartment has been graded as a good quality, spacious two star accommodation by the Scottish Tourist Board.

Directions

From the south, follow the A84/A85 (Stirling to Crianlarich), and take the A827 to KILLIN, turning right at Lix Toll Garage. On entering Killin watch for the sign South Loch Tay >>, just before the hotel at the bridge over the Falls of Dochart, and turn right. After only 75 meters, at the second sharp bend go left between two stone pillars, signed "Private Road to Auchmore" and follow the drive (coloured green above), passing a large white house (on your right) and a bungalow (on your left) to reach the entrance to the courtyard. The road ends at Auchmore. Do not go into the courtyard but pass the courtyard entrance and go round to a car park to the north facing the loch. The entrances to Tarmachan and Lawers apartments are from this car park and not from the courtyard.
 
The property is situated on the south side of Loch Tay, about 1 mile along a private road from Killin. There are outstanding views towards the loch, the Tarmachan Hills, and Ben Lawers. If you want to "get away from the world" but still need the security of shops, an ATM and and a pub just 5 minutes away, then this is the place for you.
