This brand-new, ground floor apartment, with disabled access, is on the South side of Balquhidder glen, next to the Monachyle Narrows which link the Balquhidder Lochs Doine and Voil.
Meadhon Monachyle is open-plan with two bedrooms which can sleep up to three people each, a sitting area with a double sofa-bed, a dining area with a generous table and a fully equipped kitchen and bathroom with shower. Optimally it sleeps four adults and two children. It has full central heating and double-glazing, a washing machine, dish-washer, gas cooked and electric oven, microwave, toast and electric kettle. There is also a DVD player. There is outside parking and a scenic seating area. There is a mobile phone reception and wireless internet. Pets by arrangement only.
Meadhon Monachyle lies in a 3000 acre sheep farm and deer forest. Backing onto the farm is a vast area of hill ground. A forest track leads above the trees onto remote moorland tops where deer run wild. Glen Finglas and Loch Katrine are within walking distance. Munros Ben More and Stabinion are within one day's climb. The long distance cycle path and the West Highland Way run nearby. There is an extensive beat for trout and char fishing and a small rowing boat is available for hire. There are many empty beaches nearby. In winter, skiing in Glencoe is only one hour's drive away. Golf courses and watersports are within easy driving distance.
Access to the property is by a four mile forestry track along the South side of Loch Voil. It is also possible to park on the road at Monachyle Mhor and gain access by boat is across the Narrows.
Five hundred yards away, on the opposite side of the glen, is the First Class Hotel, Monachyle Mhor, where excellent catering and bar facilities are open to non-residents.
