The Gamekeeper's House is one of a complex of four cottages that make
up part of the Rannoch Lodge Estate. These are set apart from each
other in 30 acres of woodland at the head of Loch Rannoch. There
is a fabulous view down 11 miles of Loch towards the mountain
Schiehallion. This view is regarded as one of the finest in
Perthshire, and many visitors have pronounced it better than the
Queen's View on Loch Tummel! The cottage is
homely and comfortable and offers a cosy get away from the rat race. It
has a view of the loch on one side and a view of mountains on the other.
There are outdoor pursuits in abundance provided by the diversity of
the nearby countryside at Rannoch. The Lodge owns 1/2 mile of beach and
can offer fishing from the shore without the need for a licence.
There is also a boat with outboard motor for hire. The moors and
mountains are ideal for walking and climbing and the remains of the old Caledonian Forest are nearby. Rannoch Station is five
miles away, and the train journey from there to Mallaig has been called
one of the "Great Train Journeys of the World".
Additional £25 per extra person using bed settee/folding bed.Maximum of two extra people. We also allow up to two dogs, £10 extra per week for each animal.
The
Gamekeeper's House sleeps 4-6 and offers 2 twin bedded rooms, bathroom
with shower over bath, 2nd WC, sitting room with open fire & bed
settee, dining room, kitchen. STB 3 Star. Friday changeover.
