The Manse is a delightful three storey townhouse situated in a quiet lane behind Comrie's main street. Formally the manse to an 18th century church, it is bright, spacious and well furnished. From the first floor lounge there are pleasant views down to the river Earn, less than 100m away.
The accommodation comprises of fully equipped kitchen, dining room, WC, lounge, it sleeps 6 in 3 bedrooms, 1 king, 1 twin and 1 king / twin, bathroom with shower over bath and garage (for storage) and enclosed garden with Bar-B-Q & patio furniture. There is a large screen TV in the lounge and a portable TV and play station in the bedroom.
Comrie is a picture postcard conservation village (Britain in Bloom Best Large Village - 2001 ) on the edge of the Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park. It is very central for visiting most of Scotland , being only an hour from Edinburgh, Glasgow and Dundee. For a village, Comrie is remarkably well served with good restaurants, shops, a bank, a post office and a motor garage.
Comrie is a perfect destination for a family holiday with places like Auchingarrich Wildlife Park and Drummond Fish Farm on your doorstep, plus Crieff and Perth swimming and leisure pools and Blair Drummond Safari Park within 30 minutes. It is also ideal for experiencing Scotland's history with the likes of Stirling Castle, Bannockburn, the Rob Roy McGregor Centre and the Wallace Monument within 30 minutes.
Comrie is also an excellent centre for active holidays with many walks, cycle routes, fishing, water sports on Loch Earn, and of course golf. Comrie is very well located for day trips to many of Scotland's best courses - Comrie 2 minutes, Gleneagles 20 minutes, St Andrews 1 hour, and over 15 other top quality courses within 30 minutes.
Last but certainly not least, Comrie is home to the famous "Flambeaux" on New Year's Eve (Hogmany). The "Flambeaux" is a fantastic way to experience New Year in Scotland, involving fancy dress processions, floats and the symbolic throwing of burning torches into the river at midnight.
