Island View is a superb holiday house in the pretty East Neuk village of Cellardyke, Anstruther. As its name implies, it has fantastic sea views of the Isle of May and Bass Rock, and over the Firth of Forth. The house itself is a Grade 11 Listed historical building and has high ceilings, which gives a feeling of great space. The house has recently been superbly restored. The large lounge has spectacular sea views. It has a feature fireplace and retains many of its other traditional features such as ceiling cornicing and working shutters. The new large contemporary kitchen also enjoys superb open sea views. It is fully equipped with fridge, freezer, oven, hob, dishwasher, microwave, washing machine / tumble drier and has generous preparation areas. The dining room is right next to the kitchen. There are two large bedrooms. These both also have wonderful sea views. Bedroom 1, with double bed, overlooks Cellardyke harbour and beyond along the coastline. Bedroom 2 is a family room, sleeping up to three. There are two large new bathrooms which are beautifully fitted with luxury baths and showers.
Ideal for families or groups of friends who wish to explore St Andrews and the picturesque villages of Anstruther, Pittenweem, Elie, Crail, and St Monans. Ideal for golfers as there are many famous golf courses around St Andrews (the home of Golf) including challenging golf courses at Kingsbarns, Elie and Crail, and then there is the Old Course Course itself! The East Neuk of Fife in Scotland is family friendly with award winning sandy beaches, the Fife coastal path, the Millenium cycle way, water sports and many other activities. We would recommend exploring The Scottish Deer Centre and The Mega Maze at Cupar, St Andrews Castle, The British Golf Museum at St Andrews, The Isle of May Bird Sanctuary, The Scottish Fisheries Museum at Anstruther, The Crail Heritage Museum, The Fife Folk Museum, The Secret Bunker near Crail, Falkland Palace, Craigtoun Coutry Park, Tentsmuir Forest and Nature Reserve, and Kellie Castle and Gardens. Visit across the Forth Bridges to see a range of sights such as Edinburgh Castle, the Palace of Holyroodhouse, Dynamic Earth and the Royal Yacht Britannia, or just to spend time at the Edinburgh International Festival and explore the shops around Princes Street.
