A detached chalet on a private landscaped estate in rural seashore location. Village amenities include a shop, two inns serving good local food and boat trips. Excellent sea fishing from the shore or boat is available. Buses to local villages, Newton Stewart and Stranraer stop nearby.
The area has good coastal paths and forest walks. Several golf couses are within easy reach by car.
The region is excellent for birdwatchers and Wigtown has an estuary hide as well as a video link to the Wigtownshire Osprey nest. Peregrines can often be seen above the cliffs and seals can be seen along the coast.
The property looks down to a rocky foreshore with many interesting rock pools. Although not suitable for swimming, sandy beaches are within a short drive. Crabs and lobsters, and sometimes fish are on sale the Harbour Master.
The world famous Whithorn Dig is 3 miles away and the area abounds with historical sites.
The area has a mild climate, as a result of the gulf stream, and several well known gardens are within easy reach. These include, Logan, Glenwhan, Castle Kennedy, Ardwell and Galloway House.
The Isle of Whithorn is no longer an island and is easily accessible being 20 miles south of Newton Stewart, which is on the main A75 route from Gretna to Stranraer.
