The cottage adjoining the Redcastle House used to be the servants quarters but has since been modernised combining quaintness with comfort. The other properties are farm conversions from Steadings and are called The Steading and Steading 1 and 2.

All new and well insulated they make good all year round lets, each with an enclosed garden. Steading 1 is all on the ground floor with parking  in front of the small garden. All properties are comfortable and I like to provide a warm friendly service!

In the farm courtyard there is a games room and we also have a tennis court in the garden. Location
Redcastle dates back to 1486. The farmhouse is situated in the Urr Valley, ten minutes walk from the River Urr and has beautiful views of the surrounding countryside. Walk one and a half miles along a single track road past Urr Church to the village where there is an excellent shop/Post Office and inn 'The Laurie Arms', which in winter has a roaring fire and in warmer weather tables outside.

Redcastle is six miles from the thriving market town of Castle Douglas where there is a Tourist Information Centre, theatre, town loch and a variety of individual shops.

Three miles in the opposite direction you come to Dalbeattie with its lovely park, trampolines and small pond with pedaloes. Dalbeattie is on the edge of the forest with numerous walks and cycle tracks.

Dumfries is the nearest large town situated on the River Nith, about 16 miles away.

We are two miles south of the A75 which links to Carlisle…M6…and the ferry terminal at Stranraer. Glasgow and Edinburgh are 98 miles away.
