Set between farmland and the sea we are a medium-sized, privately owned caravan park specialising in get-away breaks. Our emphasis is on peace and quiet and our site rules reinforce this fact. Although we cater for passing trade with 30 spaces available for tourers and campers our core business, and hence our main concern, is our permanent residents (mainly retired couples or families with young children) many of whom have been here over 15 years.
The Park extends to around 17 acres and consists of a mixture of privately owned static holiday homes and touring vans, with an open-space policy that is the envy of many. It is situated right on the shore of the Solway Firth with uninterrupted views of the northern Lake District fells. A short private slipway gives access to the tidal sand beach where a variety of activities can be practiced.
We have all the basic facilities expected of a modern site including a well-stocked licensed shop, laundry, electrical hook-ups, public telephone, campers kitchen and gas. As well as showers, toilets and Elsan chemical disposal unit we also even have a special tap for washing your dog - which is welcome on site provided it is well controlled. Dogs and children have plenty of space to play on the beach and youngsters (and those not so young) have a grass area the size of a 5-a-side pitch on site where they can play at high tide.
The site shop also sells sweets, crisps, ice creams, milk, etc. and has freshly baked bread from the bakery in Annan delivered daily and newspapers are available to order.
We do NOT have a bar, amusement arcade, poolroom or anything else that would be likely to attract groups and have no intention of introducing any such facilities.
Next door is the Powfoot Golf Club with an 18 hole course and bar meals are available about 10 minutes walk away at the Powfoot Hotel. Annan is just 4 miles and has cinema, supermarket, banks, W H Smiths, Dentist, Doctor, vets, etc. Dumfries is 14 miles to the west and Carlisle 20 miles eastwards, both via the nearby main A 75.
