It makes an ideal base from which to explore the picturesque Artists' town of Kirkcudbright only 2 miles away with its many art galleries, museums, restaurants, wildlife centre, boat trips, golf course and indoor swimming pool with beautiful beaches nearby and the Food Town of Castle Douglas 8 miles away.
Alternatively, heading north into the hills and forest there are ample activities including walking, bird watching, pony trekking, cycling, fishing and sailing and water skiing on Loch Ken together with gardens to visit and beautiful countryside to relax in. Also for use is a hard tennis court situated only yards from the cottage.
