It is close to the former Springhead Mill, once owned by Hartley Merrall, who was the best friend of Branwell Bronte and is mentioned in Daphne Du Maurier's book 'The infernal World of Branwell Bronte'. A stop for local buses to Haworth and Keighley is located only a short walk away. There are several fine country walks to be enjoyed in the local vicinity as well as a 15 minute walk to the pretty village of Haworth, with its historic locations, interesting shops, traditional pubs and a selection of good restaurants.
