Annfield cottage is a traditional spacious 19th Century farm cottage on the edge of the countryside, about 15 minutes walk from the centre of Jedburgh.
It has a secluded and charming private garden, equipped with BBQ and patio furniture for six. Also, to one side of the cottage is an enclosed area of meadow suitable as a play area. The garden is a great place to enjoy watching the bird population and to relax with a bottle of wine (or two!).
We are ideally situated for walking and cycling in the Borders. There is a boot bench with rack and also a secure store for bikes. The old wash house has been converted into a utility and drying room with the added bonus of a shower room. The cottage itself is generously proportioned and decorated in character with modern comforts throughout, including modern electric radiators in all rooms.
An entrance porch leads into the hallway, off which are the dining room, sitting room and the fully modernised kitchen. The dining room seats six comfortably and there is a double sofa bed. The Sitting room has books, games, CD player and a television. There is an open coal fire with back boiler.
The fine original wooden staircase leads to a spacious landing, the bathroom and two double bedrooms. Bedrooms are tastefully decorated with good quality comfortable modern beds. One room also has a single futon. The bathroom is very traditional with a deep cast iron Victorian bath.
The accommodation is ideal for 4 people but easily takes 6. The kitchen is well equipped with place settings for 12 people.
It is on the 4 Abbeys cycle route and close to the St Cuthbert's Way. There are stables within walking distance for those interested in a day out horse riding. There is a swimming pool at the bottom of the hill. The area also is well known for its excellent fishing and golf.
There are several very good places to eat in the town and many fine historic attractions.
