Heather Bank Cottage (sleeps 2/4) is situated close to a quiet Calderdale village at an altitude of 750 feet in the Yorkshire South Pennines, with two acres of natural heather / woodland garden and direct access to open countryside and footpaths. The cottage has a quiet outlook over our garden and the surrounding countryside.
This one-bedroomed cottage has been recently converted from a 19th Century stone barn, retaining the natural stone walls and mullions. The entire first floor is open plan, featuring a high timber-clad ceiling, with dining area, lounge and well-equipped kitchen. :... On the ground floor there is a bedroom with twin beds. A high quality sofa bed provides additional sleeping accommodation upstairs. :... Both our cottages are connected to a wireless broadband network for free internet and e-mail access.
We are ideally situated for exploring Bronte Country and the historic towns and moorland scenery of the South Pennines. The Yorkshire Dales and major tourist attractions of Leeds, Manchester and York are within easy travelling distance. From the doorstep, there is a wide variety of local footpaths and bridleways to explore, including the Calderdale Way long distance path, which passes close by. As we are keen walkers and cyclists ourselves, we are happy to offer advice on the most interesting moorland and footpath walking, and cycle routes using quiet country lanes.There are many good pubs and restaurants in the local area, and some within walking distance!!!
