Chestnut Farm Holiday Cottages is a group of outstanding barn conversions providing six cottages of distinction and style, located within Chestnut Farm Holiday Park - a family owned and run park ideally located in glorious countryside in the pretty village of Acaster Malbis, yet only 3 miles from the centre of the historic city of York.Access to the city could not be easier; by car - via quiet country roads, by bus - park and ride located 2 miles away (connexions bus to park and ride picks up at our entrance), by boat - river bus service picks up 150 metres from our entrance (a pleasant and relaxing way to arrive in the heart of the city avoiding any traffic whatsoever!), and finally, by bicycle - access onto the York cycle path 500 metres from park entrance.The cottages which are set around a secluded landscaped courtyard, have been converted from the traditional brick farmstead, and retain the original character of the buildings with oak beams, oak floors in living rooms, slate floors in kitchens/dining areas, brick inglenook fireplaces - with multi fuel type stoves ( for your convenience these run on gas - no log chopping!). They also however provide all the modern comforts you would expect to find in a high quality home; full gas fired central heating, double glazed windows, fitted carpets to all bedrooms, fully equipped craftsman built old pine kitchens, dishwasher, colour TV, video, DVD, etc.All the cottages have brick built barbecues and outdoor furniture, some have their own private south facing gardens, ample car parking is provided adjacent to the cottages. Our small shop/reception provides basic provisions and a wealth of tourist information! There are several local inns and restaurants in our surrounding villages serving good food and real local ale!
