Wisteria Cottage is a single storey wing of the main house, an old listed farmhouse which is about 400 years old. It is surrounded by gardens and has it's own private access and parking area. There are very few steps. So moving around is easy. The Old Farmhouse is not a working farm, but small farms abound in our lane. The accommodation consists of a main bedroom with 2 single beds and a washbasin, a second comfy bedroom with 2 single beds and a super bathroom with both a bath and a power shower. The accommodation is only suitable for 4 people. We like having well behaved children to stay. All linen and towels are provided free. The oak beamed sitting room is large and airy and very nicely furnished and decorated to a high standard. There is a large patio door at one end leading out into the garden, and at the other a super pine kitchen with everything you need, including a microwave and dishwasher. We have a washing machine and tumble drier and so on, which you are welcome to use by arrangement at no charge. The gardens are lovely. Well, we love them! And garden furniture is provided should you feel like doing nothing. There is plenty to do in the local area as we are only 10 minutes from Glastonbury and Clark's village in Street, 25 minutes from Wells, and Bath, Bristol and the South Coast at Lyme Regis are all about an hour away. The Quantock hills and Exmoor are also within about an hours drive. Local attractions include Wookey Hole caves, Cheddar Gorge, Cricket St Thomas and The Fleet Air Arm Museum to name but a few. The area is also particularly rich in famous gardens and National Trust Properties such as Montacute, Tintinhull and Stourhead. The village of Compton Dundon itself has one good pub within easy walking distance serving good cheap food, a lovely 12th century Church and surrounding hills and woods with beautiful walks.
