A gem! This tiny Grade II listed cottage is a delightful combination of historic features (flagstone floors, windows with original lead lights, etc) and every modern comfort. It sleeps two comfortably in a pleasing bedroom on the first floor (the bathroom is next to the bedroom) - however a further two can be accommodated in the attic where there are two narrow (but full-length) beds. On the ground floor is the living room (with wood/coal burning stove) a small dining room and tiny kitchenette. The original stairs are very steep and for this reason the property is not suitable for the infirm or for children under the age of 5 years. There is a small sunny paved back garden. In spite of its diminutive size this cottage probably once accommodated a large family! Under the floor in the kitchen we found a truly remarkable well. This we have glazed so you can gaze down on the water tumbling into it as you cook! Being on the edge of Castle Cary you have the benefits of a distinctly charming town (with pubs, shops and restaurants) and extremely pretty countryside - both a short stroll away. Castle Cary has a mainline railway station so you can survive here quite happily without a car. For More InformationVisit Property's WebsiteAmenitiesLinens are provided
