Located in the centre of Axbridge in Somerset, and just 2 miles from Cheddar Gorge, is Porter's Cottage.  A grade II listed stone built cottage, which was originally the staff accommodation for the adjacent Listed Victorian Work House (converted at the beginning of the 20th centuary to a hospital and then into residential apartments).  The cottage is in a quiet secluded spot, being located at the end of a private road away from passing traffic.  The cottage has just undergone complete renovation and refurbishing and comprises :

The kitchen has a full sized stainless steel gas cooker with extractor hood over, microwave, fridge/freezer and washing machine. In the lounge there are two 2-seater settees, TV with video and DVD, CD player, dining table and chairs for 4 people.  A door opens out from the lounge into the patio area which has garden furniture, BBQ and water feature.  The main bedroom has a double bed with furniture, and the second bedroom has twin beds with wardrobe.  The bathroom has a white suite, and has been tiled throughout.  There is a shower over the bath.

The parking is adjacent to the cottage.

The weekly rental price includes electricity, gas, linen and bedding.

The medieval village of Axbridge is steeped in history and makes an ideal base for walking the Mendips or discovering Somerset.  Local shops, Inns and restaurants are just a stroll away from the cottage.  Axbridge also has a large reservoir that is home to water sports and activities, there are nearby horse riding stables and of course Cheddar Gorge is now offering all levels of climbing and abseiling up the cliff face.  Further afield is Weston-super-Mare, Wells, Glastonbury, Street, Bristol and Taunton.
