The Studio is a detached wisteria and jasmine covered annex to the 180 year old Heartsease Cottage opposite. Originally designed as a photographic studio some 14 years ago, it is a charming, traditional looking honey coloured stone clad building, but with a modern Mediterranean style interior. All the rooms are very light, being south facing, whilst the very pleasing sitting room has a large skylight and French doors opening onto the west facing patio. Located in this quiet and peaceful conservation area, North Street is arguably the oldest street in the village with many thatched properties dating back to the 16thC. The Studio is entered through the French doors into the pastel tones and quarry tiled sitting room, which is fully equipped, and has a large beamed feature fireplace. Within this room is a well equipped integral kitchen, ideal for quick meals. A door leads to the en suite double bedroom (the bed has its own duvet, pillows and blanket but visitors will need to bring their own linen and towels) with shower room. Access to the studio is through the garden of Heartsease Cottage, where you will have exclusive use of a sunny patio, equipped with furniture and a barbecue. There is easy street parking and it is only five minutes' walk to the Rose and Crown pub with its extensive menu and the post office shop (open every day) which can provide for most short stay needs. Bradford Abbas is a picturesque village only three miles from Sherborne and an ideal base for exploring Dorset and Somerset with all they have to offer.
