The barns at Hockadays were built in the 17th century and were used as Farm Buildings until 1986. They are part of Tregenna, an attractive hamlet of some six properties, with the village of Blisland half a mile away.

From these buildings, two small cottages have been created each one suitable couples. Both cottages combine comfort with all the original character of the building including open beams, wooden lintels, small paned windows and cottage doors.

The cottages are similar in size with each having a sitting room, separate kitchen, double bedroom and bathroom. The Demelza cottage has the sitting room and kitchen on the ground floor with the bedroom and bathroom on the first floor. The Rowella cottage is in reverse with the sitting room and kitchen on the first floor, the entrance being through the opening to the original hayloft.

Both Cottages have sitting rooms that are furnished in cottage style and there are wall lights, prints and a colour television. The DemeIza cottage has loose rugs over a polished slate floor and The Rowella cottage has loose rugs over a varnished wooden floor.

Each fitted kitchen is pleasant and convenient to use yet fully in character with the cottages.

The appliances include a full size cooker, microwave, refrigerator, washing machine, automatic kettle, toaster, ironing board and iron. There is also a good and plentiful supply of cooking and serving utensils, wine and spirit glasses, matching dinner and tea service, together with stainless steel cutlery.

Both of the cottages have fitted carpeting in the bedroom and all bed linen is supplied at no extra cost - cotton sheets and pillowcases - and beds made up ready for your arrival.

The bathroom is downstairs and has an efficient fan wall heater and a dual voltage shaver point. The airing cupboard is where the thermostatically controlled immersion heater for supplying hot water to the bathroom and kitchen.

The heating is by electric fan heaters and convector heaters with storage heating available on request. All of the electricity except storage heating is metered through a 50p coin meter.
