The Chapel Cottages are a group of four listed cottages in a conservation area on the edge of St. Tudy village. They were built around 1820, with each stone cottage being originally lived in by village craftsmen. The cottages have now been charmingly restored. Each one has a wealth of features such as exposed beams, polished slate floors and small paned windows add to their charm and Cornish character.
Each sitting room has a comfortable cottage suite, coffee table, and cottage style dining furniture, wall lights, prints and a colour television. The flooring is in original polished slates with loose rugs. The sitting room and the main bedroom each have a window seat. One of the cottages has an attractive small fireplace built over the original one with the three other cottages having large open granite fireplaces with cloam ovens.
Each pine fitted kitchen is pleasant and convenient to use yet fully in character with the cottages. The appliances include a full size cooker, microwave, refrigerator, washing machine, automatic kettle, toaster, ironing board and iron. There is also a good and plentiful supply of cooking and serving utensils, wine and spirit glasses, matching dinner and tea service, together with stainless steel cutlery.
The cottages are similar in size and accommodate up to five people. There are two pleasantly furnished bedrooms that have fitted carpeting - all with some period furnishings. The larger bedroom has a double bed and a single bed and the smaller bedroom has two singles. All bed linen is included with cotton sheets and pillowcases - and beds are made up ready for your arrival. (Cots and high chairs are also available).
