Lower Penhallow Farm is on the Roseland Peninsula in South Cornwall .   It is a working farm in a peaceful rural setting surrounded by Cornish wildflower hedgerows, and a footpath to Pendower beach links it to the South West Coastal path and many other footpaths in the area.

The  owners keep rare-breed cows sometimes pigs, chickens and geese and ducks. There is a small self service shop where fresh eggs and at times home-grown produce is available for sale to guests. 

The farm has two holiday  homes in a converted barn,  both with central heating, wood-burner,   satellite TV, radio, video, microwave and dishwasher. Laundry facilities are also available. Bedlinen, towels, electricity, central heating  and laundry facilities are included in the rental.

Both cottages look out over charming countryside to the south and have a garden area. The Roseland is known for  unspoilt rural and coastal scenery with plenty of walks and good swimming beaches –  all without the need for a long drive – and the farm is within easy reach of Heligan and the Eden Project.

Around the farm 

You will find that there is usually plenty of space for children to play football or cricket, and grass or stubble fields where dogs can be exercised. Children are welcome to assist with feeding our ponies, cows and chickens each morning, and collecting eggs later in the day. In late summer, visitors witness the barley harvest taking place. 

The Lower Penhallow Farm trail and its leaflet are designed to show visitors most of the farm's fields, and a short walk will take you to our main wildlife pond. Depending on the period of the year, this attracts mallard, little grebe, Canada geese, shelduck, teal, swallows and swifts, moorhen, heron, warblers, buzzards, kestrels and occasionally visiting swans, and these can be observed from our hide.

In the farmyard, in spring, you could have a grandstand view of our nesting barn owls as they feed their young.

The Roseland Peninsular known for its unspoilt rural and coastal scenery with plenty of walks for all ages and good swimming beaches. St Anthony Head and lighthouse, the famous church at St Just-in-Roseland, the harbour villages of Porthscatho and St Mawes with the ferry across to Falmouth and other boat and fishing trips - all can be combined into interesting days out locally,  without the need for a long drive.
