Noke is a quiet, very rural village on the edge of uninhabited Ot Moor, an ideal area for ramblers and riders, with an RSPB bird sanctuary. Yet it is under 5 miles from the University, hospital and business park areas in North and East Oxford, and under 10 minutes drive on good roads to M40, A40 and A34, giving fast access to London, Heathrow, the Midlands and the South Coast and, of course, to Stratford-upon-Avon and the Cotswolds. The B4027, by which these are accessed, is a prehistoric ridgeway, later a Roman road, in medieval times the main road from London to Worcester and Wales.Manor Barn is next to the Manor House, which dates to the mid 17thC. It is an old barn conversion, redecorated and updated to the highest standards in Spring 2002, discreetly set back from the road through Noke. It features a stunning living area, roofed and floored with pine, which extends the full width of the barn (about 20ft/6m) and about as long, with exposed Cotswold stone gable wall rising over 5m into the roof. The dining area within this space seats six. In addition to colour TV (with digital free-to-view channels), video and stereo, a desk is provided for those who cannot leave work behind adjacent to the telephone and suitable for computer use. The new kitchen is fully fitted in Shaker style, and equipped with washing machine, dish washer and separate fridge and freezer, as well as oven and microwave. The bathroom is fitted with stylish, modern Italian ware, the bath is full size (1700mmx700mm) with power shower.
