The Gun Emplacement was built in 1910 by the Army as a look-out post. Peter Ustinov was stationed here in WW2 & bought it after the War. I modernised it in 2000 to make a tranquil retreat from city life. It's perched on the clifftop looking towards Calais, the beach below is where Channel swimmers leave from. There's a garden back & front, with a patio facing seawards, which catches the sun. You park right outside, having negotiated a rather steep & bumpy track & find the house at the top. No others houses are near. The very large, sliding, double-glazed windows make the sitting-room especially light & the view is all sea-nothing else at all. You enter straight into the tiny kitchen, fully equipped with gas cooker, fridge\freezer, microwave, all kitchen utensils. The bathroom has a separate shower, there is a full-size bath & a separate W.C. There are 3 queen-size bedrooms & a guest can use the sitting-room sofa-bed. The fire-place in the sitting-room makes it very cosy in the Winter & we also have complete central heating & electric blankets for total cosiness. We offer fast Internet connection, TV, DVD & VCR in case the view bores you. We haven't adapted the house for wheechairs, but because there are hardly any stairs & we have an exterior ramp, the house is accessible for handicapped people. My local Manager wecomes you to the house & is available in case of problems. Sandwich (& its famous gold course) is 8 miles, Canterbury 15 & France is a splendid day-trip on the ferry. Pets welcome & children over 12. NO SMOKERS For More InformationVisit Property's WebsiteSpecial Features
