A delightful and surprisingly spacious original coastguard cottage, dating from 1860, located in the famous Rye Harbour area. A 15 minute walk through the bird sanctuary will take you to the beach, and Camber Sands is a 10 minute drive away. This lovely peaceful area is a haven for walkers, bird watchers and cyclists. A general store and pub are found at the end of the road, and many pubs, restaurants, intriguing shops and places of interest are nearby in historic Rye, approximately 1.5 miles away. The cottage benefits from parking directly outside, and a private patio/garden with garden furniture, trees and shrubs to the front, side and rear.Entrance is into a small hallway and to the left is the modern, newly refurbished lounge/dining room with laminate flooring. Comfortable seating including a sofabed for occasional use, table, chairs, colour TV, video and a new woodburning stove all provide a pleasant living area. The compact, pretty kitchen has a full size electric cooker with double oven, fridge, microwave and automatic washing machine, and from here is a small hallway with door to the downstairs WC.A wide staircase leads upstairs to the double and twin bedrooms, both with drawers, wardrobe in the twin room and hanging space on the landing. The bathroom has a bath with shower over, WC and small washbasin. All the upper rooms have white painted floorboards with rugs, ad the house has a light spacious feeling throughout. Central heating is provided by Calor Gas.
