This Grade II listed Single Storey Cottage was formerly the gamekeeper’s larder for the Newlands Manor estate and was converted for domestic use in the early 1950's. The cottage has ample parking and a large sheltered garden, surrounded by a high hedge containing wire netting to keep pets from straying. The kitchen, the sitting room and the main bedroom all have windows looking on to the garden. Gothic Cottage has full gas central heating with thermostatic control, a log fire and an electric fan heater. There is double glazing throughout. You enter the cottage through the well fitted kitchen, which leads to the 20 foot lounge with a dining table and writing desk in the two bay windows. There are two bedrooms; the main one with a double bed looks on to the garden and the other has bunk beds which are 3 foot wide and 6 foot long and are suitable for children and adults. A cot can be installed in the second bedroom as well. The bathroom does not have a bath, but it has a shower cubicle with a thermostatic shower and a toilet. Badgers Holt and Gothic Cottage are situated in the grounds of Newlands Manor which is a Grade II Listed 200 years old Mansion, built in the Strawberry Hill Gothic Style. Part of it is much older, having survived a fire on Christmas Day 1802.The grounds of the Manor cover 35 acres of woodland, all privately owned, but originally the Manor’s grounds included most of Milford-on-Sea.
