Our traditional Lake District cottage features a four-poster bed, open fire and 4-star comfort in a quiet corner of Bowness-on-Windermere, only a short stroll from restaurants, shops and the lake. Grace Cottage is a spacious, traditional Lakeland stone cottage combining modern comforts with the charm of original features. A king-sized 4-poster bed, open fire and central heating are just some of the details that you will find make this an ideal year-round retreat. Grace Cottage has been recently re-decorated throughout, and includes a lounge with an open fire and window seat set into the bay window. There is a separate dining room with farmhouse table and Victorian tiles (pictured), which continue through to the well-equipped kitchen. Upstairs, the main bedroom includes a king-sized four-poster bed, and original stripped pine floorboards and ornamental fireplace. There are also a twin bedroom, single bedroom and a bathroom (with a shower over a bath). Outside, there is a pretty front garden and an enclosed patio with garden furniture to the rear. The cottage is set in a row of similar cottages with trees opposite and glimpses of Claife Heights beyond. We think that you'll find Grace Cottage a refreshing place to relax after a day exploring the Lake District. Whether you want to enjoy exploring the stunning scenery of the Lake District by foot, car or boat, or appreciate the convenience of local facilities , Grace Cottage will provide you with the perfect base. Set in a quiet part of Bowness village, a short stroll from Grace Cottage will bring you to a good selection of shops, traditional pubs and a choice of restaurants. A ten minute walk will bring you to the shores of Lake Windermere at Bowness Bay. There, you can catch a steamer or hire a boat to admire the breathtaking scenery of England’s largest natural lake. In wet weather, there’s still plenty to do, with the Beatrix Potter attraction and small cinema in the village, or aquarium and steam railway only a boat journey away. Further afield, there is no end of places to discover, whether you are attracted by the rugged beauty of the Lakeland fells, lakes and waterfalls, or the historical charm of Mr McGregor's Garden or William Wordsworth's Dove Cottage. There's far too much to list here... you'll just have to come and discover for yourself! Special Features
