Todd Cottage

Todd Cottage is a single storied one bedroomed cottage which, together with Gunn Cottage was once the farm's milking parlour. As with Gunn Cottage there is bags of character with the rooms soaring up into the apex of the roof and massive beams bisecting the space.

The cottage can sleep 2-4, with a double bedroom and bed settee in the living area. Modern gas central heating and double glazing keep the cottage cosy.

Todd Cottage features a shower room with WC. The TV also has an integral video recorder/player.

Clancy Cottage

Converted from an old farm building, Clancy is a detached single storey cottage on the end of a range of former byres and stables. Clancy has a 'Family' bedroom with double bed and bunks, in a partitioned area, giving accommodation for 2 to 4 people (a cot is also available).

There is an open plan living/dining/kitchen area with colour TV, video and well equipped kitchen with cooker, fridge and microwave. Modern gas central heating and double glazing keep the cottage cosy.

The facilities are completed by a bathroom/WC with shower over the bath. Like the other cottages Clancy features exposed stone walls and beamed ceilings open to the apex. There are lovely views of Wasdale from both living room and bedroom windows.

Todd & Gunn Cottages combined

Todd and Gunn cottages can be combined to form one three bedroomed cottage to sleep six, with bathroom, shower room and living/dining/kitchen area.

The third bedroom is formed by converting Todd cottage living room through the use of a built in wooden partition to create a private, screened double bedroom.

the 18th century. Situated in spectacular Wasdale the cottages provide a
perfect base for exploring the remote and uncommercialised western fells
and lakes.

An easy walk gives access to the open fell leading to the Wastwater screes and Scafell range. For the less energetic the area abounds with low level walks through open countryside and woodland, alongside rivers and lakes - with a liberal sprinkling of delightful country pubs.

Should you want a change from walking there is plenty of choice - fishing, golf, riding, sailing, mountain bikes and swimming can all be found in the vicinity. The area’s other attractions include the ancient Roman fort Hardknot Pass; the miniature steam railway which runs up the lovely valley of Eskdale; Muncaster Castle and owl centre and Wordsworth’s birth place in Cockermouth.

Of course the more well known centres of Keswick, Windermere and Ambleside are within easy striking distance, but far enough away for the western lakes to retain their own individual and unspoilt character.

The cottages are situated on a former working farm, set in seven acres of meadows and woodland bordered by the River Irt - with a natural rocky pool for hardy swimmers.
