Long House Cottages are situated in the beautiful Great Langdale valley in the heart of the Lake District National Park. Enjoying a stunning location near the foot of the Langdale Pikes, the cottages stand in a beautiful south facing terraced garden, which has superb mountain views of the head of the valley. A further natural fell garden is a riot of daffodils and bluebells in the spring. There are four cottages sleeping from two to six people.
The Great Langdale valley contains the two small villages of Elterwater and Chapel Stile, originating around the old gunpowder works and slate quarry. Together with the small lake of Elterwater, the Great Langdale Beck, Skelwith Falls and the high surrounding fells, Langdale offers some of the most interesting and varied walking country in the English Lakes. For the motorist we are central to the whole of Cumbria, and Langdale provides one of the shortest routes to the unspoilt Eskdale and Wasdale valleys - over the Wrynose and Hardknott Passes! Yan, Tan & Tethera Cottages - 3 Cottages, each sleeping 2 to 4 people. Converted from a traditional Lakeland barn, with great attention paid to detail, comfort and facilities. Long House - Traditional Lakeland cottage with lots of character, dating from the 17th century. Sleeps 6 people. Yan, Tan & Tethera Known individually as Yan, Tan and Tethera (named after the traditional way of counting sheep), the 3 self-contained holiday cottages were converted from a traditional Lakeland bank barn, with great attention paid to detail, comfort and facilities. Each cottage sleeps up to 4 people in 2 separate bedrooms, both with en-suite bathrooms. The terraced garden has sitting out areas to enjoy the superb mountain views of the head of the valley. Enclosed off road parking is available. Long House is a traditional Lakeland cottage dating from the 17th century. The cottage retains lots of character with its old oak beams, original slate floors, stained glass windows and log burning stoves. The spacious cottage has 3 bedrooms, each with en-suite bathroom and sleeps up to 6 people. The garden faces south and has a sitting out area to enjoy the superb mountain views of the head of the valley. Enclosed off road parking is available. All rooms are heated by oil fired central heating, which is included in the tariff. The sitting room and dining room also have log burning stoves (logs provided). The bedrooms are fully carpeted.
