Brook House Cottages lie in the delightful village of Bassenthwaite, nestling at the foot of Skiddaw. Our cottages lie in this idylic "sleepy hollow" beside a beautiful stream with ducks and a white wooden footbridge.

The various sized 17th century properties have a homely atmosphere, are clean and well cared for and personally supervised. Choose from a cosy "Nest" for two, a cottage for 4, 8 or an olde worlde farmhouse with  large 4 bedrooms sleeping up to 10.

A gentle stroll further up the riverside takes you to our 17th century inn where good food is served every day. Bassenthwaite Lake is a pleasant 2 miles walk away.
