Hetherington is a traditional farmhouse set in rural Northumberland 7 miles Hadrian's wall 15 miles Kielder water 27 miles to Scottish border making it an ideal situation for walking touring or just relaxing in friendly surroundings. The house is very comfortably furnished with lots of antiques a genuine four poster bed and more modern a spa bath. The hosts Alan and Mandy Nichol give everyone a nice warm welcome and guests are invited into our large conservatory for a night cap if they wish and talk about local life and music. The countryside is very rural on the edge of the huge Wark Forest. Catherine Cookson enthusiasts can visit the village of Simonburn where quite a few of the TV productions were made. The lovely old church of St. Mungos was used for the wedding in 'The Girl' also for other productions. This is only 5 miles away.
