Opened in 1984 the Calvert Trust Kielder provides outdoor activities, care and relaxation for people with disabilities, their families and friends from our purpose built centre and self-catering Scandanavian Lodges.

Set in its own 40 acre woodland site, close to the shores of Kielder Water, the Trust has ten spacious Scandanavian lodges offering wonderfull views and providing an ideal location for those wishing a quiet countryside break.  The lodges are 4 star rated with the English Tourist board and each has large lounge and dining room area, 3 large twin bedrooms with one room in each having its own overhead ceiling hoist.  In the kitchen there is a height adjustable work surface, plus washing machine, tumble drier, dishwasher, microwave, oven and hob, fridge and freezer.  In the bathroom there is a level entry shower and shower seat, static manual bath hoist and colour contrasting grab rails offering additional assistance.  Each lodge has a patio area where you can relax, perhaps have a barbecue and sit back with a glass of wine.  There is level parking for two cars outside each lodge.

Guests can visit the licensed bar or go for a dip in our hydrotherapy swimming pool.  There is also the opportunity to join in on our outdoor activity sessions which are subject to availability and additional charges.  We also offer internet access in the main centre building.

The lodges are open all year round, and short breaks are also available.
