Located at the entrance to Alnham Farm, this traditional gatehouse cottage provides comfortable accommodation for up to four people. Looking out onto the Cheviot Hills to the north, The Gatehouse is the ideal base from which to explore this beautiful region. Outside there is plenty of private, off-road parking and a compact patio area with furniture - and a view to die for! Located on our livestock farm in the quiet hamlet of Alnham (National Park). Both cottages offer a cosy and comfortable base for exploring Northumberland or just relaxing. Enclosed garden with furniture, barbecue and parking. Recently used as the location of the box office smash hit, Harry Potter movies. The earliest parts of the castle date back to 1096 where Yves de Vescy became baron of Alnwick and erected fortifications on the banks of the River Aln. The castle and the gardens are open to visitors. Otters have made a welcome return to many of Northumberland's waterways, including the nearby River Coquet, so an early morning stroll may provide you with memories of a lifetime! The Natural History reserves of the Farne Islands can be reached by a short boat journey from the seaside port of Seahouses.
