This delightful 3 bedroom cottage can sleep up to 5 people. The cottage has 2 double bedrooms and a single. The cottage has a log fire in the lounge and an ample supply of logs are to be found in the woodshed. The cottage is very comfortable and full of character with beamed ceilings and comfy furniture. Bed linen and towels are included in the price as is all fuel and power. A cot and high chair can be made available for your cottage for the duration of your stay and pets are generally welcome, providing prior arrangements have been discussed. In the heart of Teesdale, only 1 hour from the Lake District, Durham, Northumberland, the Roman Wall, Richmond and the ancient city of York. Local attractions include the spectacular High Force Waterfalls and Bowes Museum with its ever changing exhibitions, family fun days and outdoor Shakespearean plays in summer. The near by market town of Barnard Castle is always popular with its Antique shops and market, with monthly farmers markets. The cottage is situated in 3.5 acres of ground and include a large back garden with lawns and flower beds, a paddock, walled garden and extensive rolling front lawns, gravel drive and ample parking. Cotherstone is only 5 minutes walk from Thwaite Hall. The three cottages at Thwaite Hall are entered from the courtyard, all with exit doors into a different part of the gardens. The cottages all have a log fire in the lounge and an ample supply of logs are to be found in the woodshed. The cottage is very comfortable and full of character with beamed ceilings and comfy furniture, colour television and a DVD player. The bedrooms are all different, but typically 'country' in design. Bed linen and towels are included in the price as is all fuel and power. Feel free to roam the 4 acres of gardens, but please close the gates to keep flower eating rabbits at bay! The tree on the front drive is over 700 years old, and is home to a wide range of wildlife. Extra deck chairs are in the utility rooms off the main courtyard. The walled garden is an attractive enclosed area, with seats and is particularly lovely on sunny but windy days. A lovely venue for barbecues, which are kept in the woodshed.
