Stable Cottage at Pondfield Villa Farm is a stone building converted in 2002 to provide modern accommodation, all on one level with consideration given to the less able. The cottage is well situated being just off the A68 (for journeys to and from Scotland) and located within open countryside with panoramic views of beautiful countryside on the edge of a designated area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The cottage offers all open plan living dining kitchen area, with all modern appliances including cooker (gas hob, electric oven) fridge, freezer, microwave, dishwasher, washing/drying machine. There is one double bedroom with a double bed, en-suite shower, toilet and basin and ample storage. Additional sleeping arrangements are available with a comfortable double bed settee in the living area and a cot is also available. Duvet and pillows are provided along with linen and towels. We operate a strictly NO SMOKING policy and pets are not allowed in the cottage. The property is set in 13 acres of land which is mainly used for equestrian activities. Guests are welcome to walk around the gardens and newly planted woodland. Locally there is ample walking, cycling (1/4 mile from the C2C), fishing, golf, horse riding, sailing and swimming. There is a riverside park, a working farm and 'Diggerland' to interest children. Good pubs and food are a short drive away. Supermarkets are 3 miles away. We are near to open moorland with historic villages such as Blanchland and Edmundbyers. Weardale can be reached by a beautiful drive (or cycle) across the moors. There are many places of interest to visit such as Beamish Museum, Causey Arch, Tanfield Railway, Gibside Chapel, The Roman Wall, Durham City and Cathedral, Newcastle for shopping and theatres and The Metro Centre, Hamsterley Forest for cycle tracks and walks.
