The Old Bakery holiday accommodation is a comfortable cottage-style conversion of buildings that for over 100 years served as the local bakery for West Malvern village. The bedroom was once the huge bread oven where the Christmas turkeys for the village were also cooked. Set in Lower Dingle, 850 ft asl on the western slopes of the Malvern Hills, there are lovely views westwards over rural Herefordshire from the garden and from the welcoming window seat in the sitting room (map ref: SO 7640 4564) The garden terrace has views to the Welsh hills - if weather permits.The Old Bakery is single-storey, self-contained accommodation for 2 people, adjacent to West End House, with parking for one car. There is a comfortable Sitting Room with dining area, tiled bathroom with shower over the bath, bedroom with two single beds and galley-style well-equipped kitchen. The full gas central heating with radiators in all rooms is an essential if you're tempted by a winter break in the Malverns. Ample crockery and utensils are for those who prefer to self-cater or if you want a day off from cooking and no worries about drink-driving, the Brewers Arms is our small friendly 'local' in the Dingle selling good 'pub grub'. (It has no car park - so no slamming doors and revving engines late at night. Customers walk down the Dingle to the pub.)The quoted price is for the rental of the Old Bakery and includes gas, electricity and hire of bed linen. Bookings are Saturday to Saturday from mid-March to end October. Out of season, available on a nightly basis, minimum let 3 nights. Sorry but we do not accommodate pets and ask our visitors not to smoke in the Old Bakery.Malvern is an excellent centre for walking, cycling and touring by car.
