Hope's Hideaway, is situated about 75 yards from the main 16th century farm house and gardens. Beyond the farmhouse and only about 300 yards away, you can see the hills of Hall Dale (owned by the National Trust) which lead down to the River Dove and Dovedale.
Perhaps most unusual in the fact that it is largely upside-down!
The living area, kitchen and dining areas are upstairs, along with bedroom 4. The remaining three bedrooms and two bathrooms are on the ground floor comfortably accommodating up to 8 people.
The door to the shower room is made from stripped pine and has a lovely stained glass panel inset. The shower, a Mira, is fed off the main system and provides a generous flow of water! It also features a very unusual mirror, which has to be seen to be believed! To your right is bedroom 1.
Bedroom 1 and 2 are twin rooms, both having antique wardrobes and chests of drawers. The ceilings in both rooms are heavily beamed.
Bedrooms 3. is a large double bedroom with a good quality double bed. It is a particularly pretty room, with two of the walls having the original stonework exposed. In the wall behind the bed is a stone alcove. The room also has antique pine drawers, bedside cabinets and an old pine wardrobe
The stairs, which double back on themselves lead off to a large landing with a door on the left and the right. At the back of the landing is the largest old pine chest you may ever have seen, complete with the original ironmongery. You'll need to be strong if you want to lift the lid! The door on the right, leads into bedroom 4.
Bedroom 4. Is a double bedroom. It has huge oak perlins in the roof and a Velux window overlooking beautiful countryside. The floor has exposed and polished floorboards and a rug. The double bed is of good quality and has a simple, but attractive canopy.
The door on the left at the top of the stairs is set in the centre of a huge roof truss. When you open this, you walk into a spacious and open area, split by two trusses, which again, can be walked through. They provide the divisions for the kitchen, living room and dining room.
All of the cottages have luxury fittings, with gas log burning stoves, CD players, TV, DVD and video player with the use of a video library. dishwasher, microwave, coffee maker, BBQ, Duvets and linen are provided. There is a central utility area with a telephone, chest freezer, washing machines, dryers and airers, cots and highchairs.
Outside there are individual decking areas with garden furniture and barbeques for those long summer evenings. There is a mown playing field directly infront of the decking areas which is ideal and safe for children.
There is a new Games room with a pool table. Pets welcome by arrangement with a kennel and compound area for dogs to dry off after a long walk. The farm grounds extend to over 20 acres and is ideal for children to play and picnic in. There are pet sheep, ducks and chickens. During lambing time the children often help feed the lambs and collecting eggs is a must for everyone.
