Our 200-year-old grade II listed period barn is situated in an idyllic and peaceful location in the grounds of our Organic farm on the top of Halldale, which meanders down to Dovedale. The barn infuses "olde worlde" charm and has a medieval ambience with panelled walls polished floors rich colours and antique furniture. You enter the barn through a stable door into a panelled hallway. The splendid and comfortable lounge is to the right and has exposed beams, part timber wall polished floor, antique furniture and gritstone fireplace for those roaring fires to relax in front of at the end of the day. Off the hall to the left is the delightful kitchen and dining hall with hand made fixtures and fittings beamed ceiling tiled floors giving this room plenty of atmosphere. Off the kitchen is the ground bedroom suitable for people with mobility problems (disabled accessibility M1 and H1) and the able bodied. There is an elegant king-size Regency canopy bed, and its own en-suite walk-in shower room with hand basin and toilet. The third bedroom has two unique single canopy beds, with exposed timbers and rich rugs on polished floors, its own en-suite shower room. There is a separate utility room. Adjacent to the barn is a walled pond garden with a seating area, which has splendid views down Halldale Valley and across the Organic fields and pastures. Our pretty Church Farm country cottage has been lovingly restored. The cottage was originally part of our Grade II listed farmhouse and has been featured in Period Living and Traditional House magazine. The cottage is cosy and warm and full of character and is everything you have ever dreamed of in a cottage. The kitchen/dining room with its gritstone fireplace, window seat which opens into the cottage garden, and beamed ceiling, also has everything you will need to cook with should you feel like it.
