A recently refurbished stone cottage in lovely countryside near the town. . Nightly rate available. Large fully equipped kitchen/breakfast room, comfortable sitting room, a double and a twin bedroom, bath with electric shower over. Dower Cottage is a stone built, oak beamed cottage at the edge of the Roman Village of Leintwardine, set on a peaceful country road. The cottage has magnificent views over the glorious and unspoilt Shropshire / Herefordshire countryside, where walkers can enjoy the scenery from the miles of footpaths beginning almost from the doorstep. Accommodation This property of character which is next to the owner's home provides accommodation for 4 people and is centrally heated. On the ground floor there is a large fully equipped kitchen / breakfast room with electric oven with grill and hob, dishwasher, fridge / with freezer compartment, washer/dryer and microwave oven. The comfortable sitting room has a wood burning stove set in a large stone fireplace, colour TV with video and DVD player, radio and CD player. Upstairs there is a double bedroom, twin bedded room, large landing and bathroom which has a WC, washbasin and bath with electric shower over. There is an attractive small cottage garden with seating area where chairs, a table and a barbecue are all supplied for any al fresco meals! Safe parking for two cars is available directly outside of the cottage. Our aim is to ensure that our guests at Dower Cottage have the most comfortable and enjoyable holiday, and we start you stay off with a complimentary hamper of goodies which includes a bottle of wine, milk, tea, coffee, butter, bread, new laid eggs from our free range hens, and a jar of home made preserve. Local Area The village of Leintwardine has its village shop, post office, petrol station and stores, fish and chip shop, traditional butcher selling home made pies, pasties and sausages. There are two pubs - The Sun and The Lion, and two restaurants, one at the Lion and the other at The Jolly Frog. (Booking recommended). The village church holds Church of England and Roman Catholic services and there is a methodist chapel nearby. The thriving town of Ludlow is approximately 8 miles to the east and is famous for its summer festival of arts, literature and music, it's food festival in the autumn, it's medieval castle and its wealth of wonderful restaurants.
