Gayton is a small village about seven miles east of King's Lynn and within easy reach of all the popular and pretty North Norfolk coastal towns and - villages Wells-next-to-the-Sea, The Burnhams, Brancaster and Stiffkey or teh more traditional seaside resorts of Hunstanton, Sheringham and Cromer.
Gayton Hall is a splendid Georgian house bought by the 4th Earl of Romney in 1880 being part of a sporting estate and has been lived in by the Marsham family ever since, the 8th Earl and Countess being the current owners. It is located in farmed parkland and has 20 acres of outstanding woodland water gardens with two miles of paths, mass spring bulb planting, primulas, summer waterside bedding, gunneras and many rare trees. The gardens are a pleasure at all times of the year.
Gayton is within walking distance of two public houses, shops and a garage. The Stable Flat is a detached property that stands on the edge of the yard of Gayton Hall.
The flat has three bedrooms and two bathrooms sleeping between five and six people. There is also the option to book at two bedrooms and two bathrooms that can sleep four.
The entrance on the ground floor leads into a spacious entrance hall with a large hanging cupboard and a washing machine. Stairs lead up to the Stable Flat that is on the first floor and is not suitable for those with walking difficulties. A small passage leads into the sitting/dining room with a TV/ DVD/Video, and a wood burning stove for which logs are provided. The separate kitchen has a dishwasher, an electric cooker, a microwave and a fridge with small freezer compartment. A larger freezer is available that is situated downstairs. There is a small double bedroom with en-suite bathroom with over bath power shower, a twin bedroom, separate bathroom with over bath shower and a third bedroom, useable either as a single for one adult or twin for two children. There is a storage and hanging cupboard that is outside the twin bedroom. Hair dryer.
Outside there is a dedicated sitting area with garden furniture and barbeque. Free access to the 20 acres of display gardens throughout stay, other than the lawn area to the right of the path as you enter the main garden from Stable Flat. We respectfully ask that you respect the owners’ privacy by not walking on this lawn. The tennis court and swimming pool are open from the end of May until the end of September. These last two facilities are shared with the owners of Gayton Hall and access to them needs to be discussed on your arrival. There is a table tennis table in the garage below Stable Flat.
No pets are allowed. No smoking and no children under 5 years and under. It is requested that No children under the age of 14 are to use the Hall's gardens without an accompanying adult.
