Lodge Cottage - Sleeps five adults with cot available and sofa bed for occasional use only. Detached property with own garden, formally a gatehouse to the owners 17th century country house set in 20 acres of Parkland with river. Guests are welcome to wander (and picnic) around the parkland. Between June and September the owners heated swimming pool is available for daytime weekday use, weather permitting. The tennis court is also available for use by prior arrangement. There are some racquets balls available to loan. The accommodation comprises of : First Floor; Three attractive bedrooms, one double, one twin and one single (with cot and stair gate available) Good sized bathroom/w.c. containing separate bath and shower. Ground Floor; Cosy beamed sitting room with open fire if required (sofa bed for occasional use) Fitted Kitchen (including dishwasher) with dining area. W.C. Shower Laundry room with washing machine. There is also a tumble dryer.The property has full night storage heating with facility for an open fire with some wood provided. Television and video, CD player, telephone (with honesty box) as at present it is difficult to receive a mobile signal in Slapton.Duvets, linen and towels are all supplied. Pretty garden with furniture and barbecue. Plenty of parking close to cottage. Visiting the local pub across the field is an easy 10 minute walk.This is a very pretty area with plenty of places to walk or cycle. Slapton has a small parish church dating back to the 13th and 14th century with an important series of medieval wall paintings. The next village Wappenham has a thriving village shop and post office. The nearest town is Towcester (3 Miles) which has various supermarkets, Antique shops, cafes, a large leisure centre and a Race Course that has recently been updated.Stoke Bruerne is very close with its canal museum, pubs and canalside walks.
