Stone Cottage in the Peaks with 2 Bedrooms in Kniveton Nr Ashbourne, Derbyshire

Lovely 250 year old stone cottage on the Edge of the Peak District.  In the centre of a village and near to an excellent pub that serves meals (50 yds) The cottage is very cosy but has been full modernised and has a lovely lounge with all the usual attractions and a dining table .  The kitchen also boasts a table for eating and is full fitted with a built in frdige/freezer, diswasher and has agian all the mod cons you would expect for easy living.  The bathroom is fully tiles with a corner bath and an excellent shower over this.  The main bedroom is extremely large and has built in wardrobes and airing cupboard and there is room for an additional bed and or cot if required.  #the second bedroom is a double size with full sized twin beds and wardrobe and drawers.

Outside is a side patio for eating el fresco and also a large out building which houses the washing machine, dryer and an additional fridge towgether with the outside furniture and barbeque.  There is still space to store such things as walking boots, bicycles and spare equipment.

The cottage has double glazing and is heated by a combinations of storage heaters, panel heaters (with timers) and electric fires throughout. All of the main rooms are carpeted and the kitchen and bathroom have ceramic tiled floors. To see a picture of the room click its name.

Living Room- Three seater settee with two easy chairs, dining table and four chairs, dresser corner unit and coffee tables. Television, DVD, video and stereo unit for DVD'S C.D.'s, tapes and radio. Two storage heaters and electric fire.

Kitchen- Fully fitted units with dishwasher, sink unit and fridge with freezer compartment. Built in oven with grill and electric hob. Ample cupboards and storage. Kitchen table and four chairs, radio, microwave oven, electric kettle, toaster and coffee maker. Ample crockery, cutlery saucepans and bowls. Ironing board and iron, vacuum cleaner and cleaning equipment. Telephone. Two panel heaters which can be controlled by a timer if required.

Three steps lead to the:

Central Hall- leading to the bathroom and stairs. There is also a side door to the patio and outbuilding. Electric storage heater.

Bathroom- Fully tiled with corner bath and shower with screen, wash basin, toilet and extractor fan. Electric storage heater.

Ten steps lead to a small landing and to the

Main Bedroom- Double bed with side cabinets, dressing table and chair, two chests of drawers and a fitted wardrobe. Telephone , Additional bed and/or cot will be added to the room on request. Airing cupboard, hot water tank and immersion heater. Panel heater with timer.

Second bedroom- Twin room consisting of two full size single beds, bedside cabinet, wardrobe and chest of drawers with chair. Panel heater with timer.

Outside - A side patio, is suitable for sitting out on, leads to the outbuilding which houses a washing machine, tumble drier. and an additional fridge. The out building also contains Garden chairs and is large enough to store bicycles, walking boots and other outdoor equipment. The cottage has a garden to the front and is south facing.

Car parking is available on the road opposite the property and is in view of the cottage

Well behaved pets are welcome.

About Kniveton Village

The nearest shops are approximately two and a half miles away at Ashbourne, where all types of shops, including a post office and other amenities can be found.

There is a telephone box opposite the cottage for out going calls - mobile telephones do not operate in this part of the village. A post box is situated next to the telephone.

A bus route runs within 50 yards of the property, providing regular service to Wirksworth and Ashbourne.

The village has an excellent public house which serves meals and is near to the cottage. There are other pubs within a two mile radius.

There are numerous footpaths near the cottage for walks over the surrounding countryside. The village has both a Methodist chapel and a Church, Nearest emergency services are located in Ashbourne.

The Peak District has many wonderful walks from gentle strolls to difficult climbs and also boasts wonderftil scenery in addition to the many attractions for all the family.

A visit to the Tourist Information Centre in Ashbourne will assist you to plan your holiday.

Local Attractions

Ashbourne - Approx. 2 miles, has a variety of shops, and has market days all Thursday and Saturday. There is also a leisure centre with swimming pool and other amenities.

Carsington Water - Approx. 2½ miles away has a visitors centre with shops, cafe and restaurants, bicycle hire, horse riding, walks, a sailing club and picnic areas, It is also ideal for bird watching.

Dovedale - approx. 4 miles

Tissington and Tissington Trail - approx. 3 miles

Matlock and Matlock Bath - Approx. 11 miles

Buxton and Buxton Country Park- Approx. 13 miles

Chatsworth House approx. 12 miles

Alton Towers - approx. 8 miles

Sudbury Hall - approx. 12 miles
